Connoisseurs will soon find Filou casting a spell over them - as she is full of talents while sounding quite mature. The interaction of high quality components allows not only for a high-resolution soundstage but also remarkable accuracy at high output levels with a big fun factor. The Filou: lively, dynamic... and a bit sassy!

The parentage of the Filou should already let one guess that this loudspeaker stands for High-End quality. Setting the tone are the matched pairs of drivers, which already proved themselves in the Echelle, followed by the fine 25-mm flattened-dome tweeters whose silk membrane haven't the slightest resonance problems. Then there is the mid-bass driver, which was especially designed for the Filou. It's light 9.5 gram carbon-fiber cone makes this driver exceptionally fast and precise. The common denominator: the Filou guarantees listening enjoyment on the highest level.

Don't let yourself be fooled by the exciting sleek, elegant form of the Filou. Her cabinet makes use of proven techniques: three separate, acoustically perfectly tuned chambers ensure the best conditions. The mid-bass driver works reliably in a sealed chamber, the bass driver develops all of it's strength in a chamber with an aerodynamically optimized bass-reflex tunnel. The otherwise customary sounds of airflow are thereby practically eliminated. Even the crossover is in its own chamber. In short, the innovative 2 1/2-way concept of the Filou combines the advantages of various enclosure designs.

Amongst the impressive innards of the Filou are, naturally, the proven audiodata internal wiring, and the pairwise-selected parts for the crossovers, which exclusively use polypropylene capacitors, for example. Another stroke of genius: as is standard practice at audiodata, thousands of tiny steel spheres in small chambers use microscopic movements amongst themselves to achieve an impressive lack of resonance in our enclosures. No compromises were made in the recessed wiring terminal. It is exclusively equipped with high-grade binding posts and available in single- or bi-wire configurations.

Summary: The Filou is a further highlight in our audiophile model palette. Unmistakably elegant appearance and perfect in the technical implementation. And a sound that is without compromise. And at a price that will surely make others, and not only those in this product's class, take notice.

Filou was revised for the HIGH END 2002 show and the new model was named Filou II for better differentiation.

While it shares many of the same technical specifications, the Filou II differs from the older version in its magnetically shielded bass- and mid/bass-drivers, a revised crossover with even better parts, and in improvements in the areas of the enclosure and dampening.
